Liar, Liar, Pants on FIRE!

Tulane administrators (including Tulane President Scott Cowen and Tulane Provost Mike Bernstein) are not committed to transparency, honesty, safety, equity, and fairness.

The Tulane Board of Administrators – which is the body that has ultimate authority for Tulane’s actions and operations – also has no commitment to things like honesty, safety, and fairness.

Board leaders like Jay Lapeyre (whose family-owned company faced litigation from the FEDERAL government several years ago) and Darryl Berger (who has proven to be a minion of Cowen) are largely inactive rubber-stamps for men like Cowen and Bernstein.  The Board is supposed to provide objective oversight and leadership for Tulane.  Instead, the Board members (including lawyer Kim Boyle) seem to do what Cowen and his acolytes tell them to do.

Board inaction in action….

No wonder Tulane wastes millions of dollars more on legal fees than do “peer institutions.”  When a Board is inactive, inattentive, and conflicted, it is no surprise that major legal (and ethical) problems follow, resulting in costly legal proceedings.  Not surprisingly but in a validation of the conflicts of interest that plague Tulane, millions of dollars in legal fees are often paid to the very law firms of which Board members like Wayne Lee and Kim Boyle are partners.
